Default AG throughout the ages

http://web.archive.org/web/200006191...turegamer.com/

It's actually surprising to me how little AG's overall layout has changed in the last 6-7 years. Despite the old colors and thinner width, it's really basically the same as it always was (which has always been a good layout in my opinion).

I miss the detective guy on the logo. At least that's what I always thought he was... now I'm not so sure.

He was a suspiciously Indiana Jonesesque character. An adventurer, if you will

I liked the old colours better.

Heh, Blair Witch and Alone in the Dark 4. We were a bit less discriminating in those days...

I think I was already visiting back then -- brings back memories (though I definitely like the new colour scheme better).

I love the Future of 3D graphics feature: '... the next generation of real-time 3D can look just like a cartoon, or even a painting.' Yeah, right. Six years and a couple of 'generations' later, it still all looks pretty polygonal to me -- at least still light years away from, say, paintings. And, what's more, people don't seem to be striving for such a style that much anyway. Makes me wonder how many of the current predictions about what's coming 'very soon' will be proven wrong in the future.

Heh well you can make real-time 3D look like a painting, there's plenty of demo videos of it. It's just that no one is actually doing that in games, except maybe Okami (a little).

That article clearly was crap though.

P.S. Wow we had a link exchange with EuroGamer?

Out of interest, where might one find these videos?
