suggestion: abandonware link section /poll/
Hi everyone,
it is quite obvious that this is THE (true McCoy) site to discuss adventure games. The majority of them belongs to the era of abandonware, so wouldn't it be a good idea to maintain a link section to hq abandonware sites? There are a lot of worthy sites outside of the scope of the bigger portals (Abandonware Ring etc.) which could be referred to from here. This way if someone is interested in a game they don't have to search for a download link (too long). In the spirit of this forum, where we are from all over the world, links to ANY LANGUAGE site could be present (not just the major world lgs). Or perhaps such an "all-inclusive" international portal already exists and I am knocking at an open door... ? |

Under forum rules, "What's not OK to post?" it is said: "We [...] kindly request that you do not post links to so-called 'abandonwarez'. Although we sympathize with the preservation of games that have gone out of print, we choose not to tread any murky legal ground."

What Wormsie said. No abandonware links on the forum. Sorry.
(Besides, if someone's trying to justify that they've tried everything to find a legal version of a game but it's impossible to buy, so have no other choice but to download it, but looking for it for five minutes on Google just takes waaaay to long... let's just say I don't sympathize. ) |

By the way,
I tried surfing abandonware forums and found that general opinion is that ESB (BSA IRS FBI CIA and all other raincoat guys ) are really after abandonware because they NEED to prove that they WORK on something; as they cannot cope with the real enemy (0-day warez) they get rid of frustration and let out the steam elsewhere... So when they grab your b***s it is not business - it is personal... They HATE people who could actually played thru games which turned 'em into wussies as a child |

It is a joke, I know.
But taken with a grain of salt... we find a speck of truth in it |
