Replying in quotes and the 3 character minimum
Just posting a reply in this thread For sheer convenience it made sense to quote the original and put my replies to the questions in bold (as others had done). When I tried to preview the post, despite the amount I'd written, I fell foul of the 3 character minimum post length. Is there any way round this (some sort of detection you've made edits?) or do I always need to include some part of my reply outside quotes?

I think if you just hit the spacebar 3 times and look at preview or post your reply, that should satisfy the 3 character requirement (I think..).

Yeah, that's annoying.
I'm not sure the spacebar thing works, but something else you can do (that's also annoying, but works) is to type in some invisible text like this: [ COLOR=#F6F6F1 ]Type enough here to fulfill the minimum[ /COLOR ] Without the spaces between the brackets and "color", of course. You end up with something like this: Text Which, if highlighted, will be visible, but people generally won't know to highlight it. |

Err, yeah.
Of course, if people go around posting messages without any text in them, I'll have to assume it was a slip of the finger and delete it. |

How can you delete someone's slipped finger?

So you're saying I wouldn't get away with typing "All the mods suck" then? Hypothetically speaking of course. since I've always found the mods here to be pretty non-sucky in the past
I was just wondering if the 3 characters outside quotes was a fixed thing or could be modified. I didn't have a problem with typing something outside the quote. It just took me a few tries previewing the post before I realised what the problem was. Just thought it would save on duhhhh moments like that if there was a general forum way round it but no worries if there isn't.

Guys, stop with the invisible text, already . It annoys me when people do spoilers like that, and it annoys me when used for ANY reason .
