Our dog died of skin cancer a while back (possibly because he always sat and looked out the window, sun-side? [also front-door side, as he was a bit of a guard dog]). He wasn't albino, but he was quite hairy.

I don't know if this is the case with gorillas but in many species albinos are picked on and killed by others so perhaps he led a better life in captivity than he could have in the wild. He had 22 kids, so he certainly kept himself busy
