"30 Days" Was Excellent Tonight!
A right-wing conservative straight guy from Michigan spent 30 days living with an "out" gay man in San Francisco's Castro district, and had a few misconceptions and stereotypes shattered.
Did anybody see this besides me, or will this thread sink like a stone? (Apologies to my friends in other countries, as this show may not be broadcast there.) ScottMate

I don't know anything about that! Damn, missed it. Any chance of a rerun?
Right now, however, big R and I got Latter Days from Netflix and are watching it.

It's on FX, so I'm sure it will be re-run. Check your local listings for times...wait, you're on the West coast, so it might be coming on in a few minutes!
The "big picture" was that the straight guy got to see what it's like to be in the minority and never feel completely comfortable in public. ScottMate

Sorry Scottsie, I missed it. Will there be any rerun at all?
Also, you should rent Latter Days. It's a formulaic on-the-rails tearjerker: Quote:
"Your church doesn't allow alcohol or gays? I'm definitely not joining. I can't imagine heaven without either." o/\o C. Jay Fox (Sweet Home Alabama) wrote the script.

That's double-funny for me as Heaven is a gay club over here.

Trepsie- "Latter Days" sounds pretty good. I'll have to look for it.
Squarejaw- Good grief! "Heaven" is still open? It's been there for what, twenty years? And how did your movie experience go this evening? I trust the tent has been taken down? ScottMate

ROFL. I never watched it, I played BF2! Still don't think I'd ever seen it. Besides, that sort of thing isn't much of a turn-on for me anyhow.

I don't think it would turn me on, either. Even if it featured two guys getting it on. It's just not pr0n, it's not meant to be. And it's not meant to be a sensual, visual feast either, like Henry & June. It's not about turning people on, at least on a carnal level. From what you say it's about something else, and the graphic sex scenes are simply just another way for the camera to attempt to be blunt with us.

Are we gonna turn this into a Do-you-like-to-watch-pr0n thread?
Oh, and Scottsie!! The next movie on our Netflix queue is La Cage Aux Folles!

I'm trying to subvert those forum pics that fourteen year olds use.
