Also the tale of Jack Sparrow's escape from the island he was marooned on was hysterical! The dialogue was suprisingly good I thought. |

Yes, yes, it WAS good... yet there was never that elusive sparkle that made it incredibly memorable. I'd like to see an actual Monkey Island movie now. Preferably 2D animated.

Yeah, it was fun and entertaining while I sat there, but it's not the new Star Wars for the kiddies, like I hoped it would be. A sequel with more Johnny Depp in it would rule, though.
And I loved the "I Feel Cold" line. I was afraid he would say something like "That is the greatest pirate parley I've ever seen, at least as a guideline"..... But as Claire said, they did cram in the apple. And I just thought, the "greatest pirate" bit is almost something Guybrush would say..... |

I create. Therefore I am.

My opinion: First it was kind of boring, then it got fun, then it got a bit scary

I remember when I posted news about this movie when it was still in production. Back then people didn't give a sh*t about it. As long as something gets popular enough everybody have to see it all of a sudden.
I have been waiting for this movie since I heard about the script. I saw it the day it opened and I thought it was great. |

I thought it was too long.
That's as much as you're getting out of me.

Sometimes Captain Jack Sparrow reminded me of Guybrush, because they both act kind of the same, and they are both wannabe pirates who think they are great pirates.
I loved the damn movie. |

In other words, until the film actually came out, nobody I know really expected too much out of it. So it's probably just a little unreasonable to complain that nobody cared when you told them about it over a year ago. And by the way, thanks to the way the studio people treated our cast members during the premiere party at Disneyland, a lot of people I know still haven't gone to see it in protest. |

I am aware that this thread is old.... but the thing is, I just saw Pirates only three days ago! Yeah, I know - Pathetic!!! It came out late here, like around late August and I only got around watching it last Thursday.
I enjoyed it thoroughly. I only wish they'd include Insult Swordfighting and maybe a certain salesman with fast-moving arms and perhaps even a 10-year-old lemonade-seller swindler. I remember there was one bit where I noticed there were barrels and chickens floating around in the bay that reminds me a lot of CMI (don't remember which part). Bloom was an almost-Guybrush but I think they could have fleshed out Knightley's Elizabeth more. Spoiler:. p/s: Spoiler:
