I don't like nihilists. They are so ... nihilistic.

Cogito ergo sum.
Je suis que je pense.
I think, therefore I am.

While I agree that reality is a group of mutually agreed upon perceptions, I got tired of defending my stance with epistemologists ostensibly preaching philosophy (theirs). Nihilism is a philosophical wasteland, and who cares anyway?

Nihilists were "in" during Dostoyevski. I rember thinking how cool they were when they showed up in some of his novels. They were the rebellious youth of the day. But that's so 2 centuries ago.

Punk rock is the movement of this generation.

I'm having too much of a good time to be a nihilist.

I finally decided that I should look up Nihilism.

My guess, that it was either an art direction, or some philosophical position, was correct.

Let us take this as an example, stop trying to put ourselves into categories and just enjoy life!

But that's the only way I CAN be happy, by putting myself into a category I myself invented.

Probably the simplest way is that Trep is a one-of-a-kind, and that's just the way he likes it.

Kudos for quoting Calvin & Hobbes!

Neither of those are words (without hyphens anyway) – though I believe you're refering to spending your remaining years conciously rotting. Correct me if I spoke in haste.

I tend to agree sometimes – I'm more of a non-dispairing nihilist.

Je pense donc je suis.
Nihilism nihilates itself, so to speak.

If with nihilism you mean believing nothing has a meaning, then I'm one. But it sure as hell doesn't depress me. Less meaning, more freedom. It's just a matter of perspective, I guess. My life is pleasantly spiced up with a pinch of artificial/subjective meaning. Fun!

...and then there's the "lack of coherence" thing again... *should try again later*...

That reminds me of a joke!

How many nihilists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
