The Automatic

Great band, although their albums seems hard to find. I bought "Not accepted anywhere" and it's great but I can't find their latest anywhere here. That's really strange since I first heard of the band on MTV.

Peter Fox - Schwarz zu Blau

Here is a translation of the lyrics for those that don't speak German.

Don't just listen to the music in the background, but watch the video to it too. It's amazing. And I suggest reading the translation of the lyrics I linked to, and compare those to the visuals of the song.

Yes, I realise this is technically a type of (German) Hip Hop or Rap. But this is a kind of Hip Hop or rap that I like. Because it's simply amazing.

Lupe Fiasco - Hurt Me Soul

On his first album, Food & Liquor.

I'd say my favorite rapper(/MC). Intelligent lyrics, great flow, both in the rap and the music, and just a great... attitude in the lack of a better word.

Pretty much what rap should be, not too aggressive but not too shallow either and isn't "ringtone rap".

As I said, intelligent lyrics. Talks about issues and life, and not just about how life is hard in the ghetto, but a great number of things. Doesn't have one song with "dumb" lyrics and he has clever rhymes and doesn't resort to the usual clichés of rap music.

Quite highly respected among the "circles" but not nearly as well known and respected as he should be (especially generally).

Deichkind - Krieg

Saw them live again yesterday. Oh man, this was some in-your-face experience, even more so than the last time. More people, more songs, more equipment, more alcohol, more crazyness.

Le Festin - Camille/Michael Giacchino.

I've had this in my head since I re-watched Ratatouille. It's kinda awesome... to the max...

I've always been a huge fan of Michael Giacchino.
