David Murray - Teardrops for Jimmy

I've listened to this album - Lovers - a few times on Spotify (but with the listening limits, I was running out of plays) and I just love it. Only thing is that it's a fairly rare jazz album from 1988, so it's not easy to find anywhere. So I was pretty happy when I found a download yesterday

Pre-ordered (and should get tomorrow) Rammstein's greatest hits CD - Made in Germany 1995-2011 and Nightwish's new album - Imaginaerum.

Already, before receiving them, I'm a bit disappointed with the Rammstein compilation - the title's misleading as a few of their songs are missing. One track that I wish was on it is - Ich Tu Dir Weh.

On the other hand, I'm looking forward to Nightwish's new album as I've ordered the 2 CD digipack version. The second disc contains all the album tracks but as instrumentals, which I love. I'm not keen on remixes that usually plague the second discs, but instrumentals...

Rammstein went seriously downhill after Mutter, imo. A Greatest Hits cd should comprise only of songs from their first three albums...

Edit:
Just googled the CD: only two songs from Sehnsucht and only one from Herzeleid????

Nightwish also lessened when they replaced Tarja Turunen, imo. Their music requires an opera voice, and that new singer doesn't have one. Otoh, Turunen's solo album lacked Tuomas Holopainen's song writing...

Good thing I saw them perform at Wacken Open Air a few months before they sacked Turunen...

Yeah, I know... So much so that you won't stop sending me PMs asking me for recommendations.

That's what I mean - they took one or two songs from an album, but left out one or two others that still deserve to be on the compilation. It's silly.

See, I don't know which side of the fence I'm on when it comes to Tarja vs. Anette. On the one hand, sure, Tarja's opera singing made Nightwish what they are and they're not quite the same without her.

On the other hand, even though Anette's voice may sound like a typical female singing voice that you hear all over the radio in pop songs, I still love her voice too. Either way, Nightwish's music still has the power to send me to another world and send shivers down the spine.

Regardless of vocalist, I still love whatever music they make.

Very lucky... I'll be content to see them live either way; hopefully at the Download Festival sometime in the future.

On-topic:

Not long after those CDs, I bought a couple of Thin Lizzy albums for £3.99 each off amazon - Jailbreak and Black Rose: A Rock Legend.

White Zombie - Electric Head Pt. 1

...which is referenced in the first volume of Black Lagoon

And speaking of Black Lagoon...

Kiss - Killer

Someone made a great music video for my new favorite character, Revy. This song describes her perfectly!

And to top it off:

AC/DC - Problem Child and If You Want Blood

Two more AC/DC songs that are easy to play on guitar...

One of the greatest song ever: Ottmar Liebert - Candlelight

And The Scent of Light might just be the best album ever. My opinion, of course

Are there any AC/DC songs which are hard?

Listening to http://www.guthriegovan.co.uk/ Guthrie Govan, erotic cakes, just when I thought music couldn't surprise me anymore I find this guy! I'm head over heels with this one, what an amazing musician/guitarrist

True... But I consider myself to be average at guitar, so when I do learn a song - whether easy or medium - I can't help but feel proud.

Whoa... Th-that's... awesome!

Even though he says he still has a-ways to go before he's mastered it, he seems to be pretty good at it already!

...

I'm currently having a Red Hot Chili Pepper fix at the moment, specifically their older material when they were more wild, funkier, and, in some cases, heavier compared to now.

Particular favorites:

Higher Ground
Fight Like a Brave
Behind the Sun
Show Me Your Soul
True Men Don't Kill Coyotes

Two more songs learned on rhythm:

Metallica - Seek and Destroy
Def Leppard - Too Late for Love (very easy)
