Can't quite fit it on the screen in 1440x900, then .

:EDIT: And why the name change, Spitfire Dasilva?

:EDIT2: I've learnt to read. Never mind .

Yeah, but look at the length of her right lower leg! It is proportionately about 6 inches (15 cm) longer than her other lower leg and it would make her, in that proportion, about 7ft 6" (229 cm).

I think it's Foreshortened. The right lower leg is a bit more in the forground than the rest of the body. So it just looks like she has an extremely long lower leg. Compare it with the upper leg of that same leg. it's quite short in comparison. That's because it's pointing right in your direction, creating foreshortening.

On a side note, I don't know if it was such a great idea of Lara to go climbing on a slippery wall that is also grown over with moss in places, with such short pants on.

No, you can see foreshortening on her right thigh, compared to the left, but they "look" the same length. the right lower leg, though, looks much longer.

Are you more concerned about the moss or the pants?

Incidentally, Jaz has a folder called "NWN HACKS" on her desktop. I'm not sure cheating is a good way to get ahead in coop ...

Perspective will do that, her right leg is closer, therefore is perceived larger.

I understand the concept of foreshortening - it is, however only a few inches ahead of the left leg - not enough to give the perception of 6+ inches of length. However, if you read my original post about it, I stated that even so, if we use that length for her overall height perspective, she would be 7'6" tall.

Lynsie

PS - I learned the concept of perspective in art classes more than 40 years ago - it is not a new concept.

Your judgement of scale is different to mine, her leg is angled so that her right foot is far forward from her right knee, and even further from her left knee. I don't really see where foreshortening would come into effect, as the leg is not angled much towards the observer, it's just simple perspective.

Actually I use the term to define everything that's in some way not the original program. From things to make your own modules, to actual modules.

Her right thigh exhibits the foreshortening effect, due to the angle, but even accounting for that, her right lower leg is waaaaaaaaay too long for her figure. Comparatively, the rest of her is in proportion, accounting for the angles and distance from the viewer.

I measured the length of her right shin and her left shin, and they came out to be the same length. I guess it's because of the perspective, and the fact that part of her leg is hidden. Also, the bend might be a cause for confusion.

So, even though it *looks* wrong, it is actually correct.

(Yes, my art teacher actually measures the length of proportions to check if I get everything right. There's no fooling that teacher, no Ma'am!)
