Elton, now wait a minute - Suppose you meet a girl you really like, and you want to introduce her to this forum where you've started to hang out. And you've got to tell her your name is "ArseFerret"? Now while the guys may think this is funny, I doubt that a girlfriend would be so amused, particularly if you tell her that they voted on this name for you. Don't you think she might feel that this group was trying to make fun of you?

How about:

Elton the Eliminator
Elite Elton
Elusive Elton
Electric Elton
Elton the Exceptional
Elemental Elton
Easy Elton

FGM, it was actually Elton, himself who came up with the idea and the list of choices. We are just helping him to pick the best one.

Well, okay, but my thoughts still stand on how someone else might view this name. Sorry to assume wrongly.

I have to add that I always flinch at the sight of the word "Arse".

Well you guys......as you can see I have made my decision. However, I appreciate your concerns FGM and Jaz and your suggestions.

As you can see my name is still the same, with a little "Arseferret" underneath, and a super photo of a ferret I found under my desk just now

ALL HAIL FRANK, THE LORD OF THE FERRETS!!!

My dear Wormsie. I'm a contributing member of the "Reality-on-the-Norm" community.

The Crazy Homeless Bum (these days often referred to as the "Crazy Homeless Weirdo") is one of my favourite characters.

Alright Elton, head on over to the "handle, title avatar & sig" thread, and explain to us exactly why you made your curious choices! (yeah, the pimping of my thread will never stop! )

Pssst. Remember "The Fifth Elephant" by Terry Pratchett? Good. Now, reply again.

David: Time now for a song. And who should be singing it for us but... John Cleese.

Tim: Anybody should be singing it for us but John Cleese!

David: Be that as it may, here he is. John Cleese and the Loving Pruneful with... "The Ferret Song."

I've got a ferret sticking up my nose.
(He's got a ferret sticking up his nose.)
How it got there I can't tell
But now it's there it hurts like hell
And what is more it radically affects my sense of smell.
(His sense of smell.)

I've got a ferret sticking up my nose.
(It starts singing when he wears his formal clothes.)
I can almost stand the noise
But at parties it destroys
My hard-earned and carefully cultivated social poise.

I've got a ferret sticking up my nose.
(Worst of all it constantly explodes.)
"Ferrets don't explode," you say
But it happened nine times yesterday
And I should know for each time I was standing in the way.

I've got a ferret sticking up my nose.
(It pokes its head out every time he blows.)
I can stand it for a while
Although it's absolutely vile
It's not as bad as last week when I had a crocodile.

I can see a bare-bottomed mandril.
(Slyly eyeing his other nostril.)
I really don't know what to do
But if it jumps inside there too
I shall be the proud posessor of a kind of nasal zoo.
(A nasal zoo.)

I've got a ferret sticking up my nose.
(He's got a ferret sticking up his nose.)
How it got there I can't tell
But now it's there it hurts like hell
And what is more it radically affects...

My sense of smell!
