National Treasure
I've heard a couple people I know give good reviews on that movie, and said it reminded them of Indiana Jones. I love Indiana Jones, so I'm thinking about seeing this movie. Has anyone here seen it and agree on the comparison?

Kinda like I think, the story has a great premise but is wasted on action action action. Even Indiana Jones (my personal favourite of those 80s Lucas productions) could cram an intelligent, coherent and somewhere-going story.

The movie hasn't gotten great reviews from critics I trust, so I'm kind of wary about seeing it. I'm not really a fan of Nicholas Cage either. Maybe I'll see it on video with some friends at some point.

Nicholas Cage's character's name in the movie is Benjamin Franklin Gates. Now that name is just plain goofy.

Well, I just saw it, and here I am, still alive. It wasn't as terrible as some of the reviews claim it is, but it seems to me like it's a cross between Indiana Jones and The Davinci Code. One clue, another clue, another clue, etc.
There were quite a few logical inconsistencies (illogical actions on the part of the characters) but I, personally, never have trouble overlooking them. I can suspend my disbelief, as it were. A few sniggers here and there, but overall, I thought it was a pretty mediocre movie. I'd wait to rent it for 4 bucks as opposed to spend 8 on the movie theatre, personally. |

I've seen a bunch of trailers for this and honestly it's hard for me to believe it's not totally retarded.
(Exploder... Rated 'R' for 'retarded')

Haven't seen the movie, but it just reeks of "We couldn't get the rights to The DaVinci Code so we set it in the States and gave it a different title."
By the way, Tom Hanks has apparently been cast as the lead in the DaVinci Code movie. It's an unusual choice, but you can't really go wrong with Hanks, so I'll take it.
