The Butterfly Effect
Anyone seen it?
I've saw it last night, and somewhat it reminded me a little of Sanitarium... Anyone think it was good? I think it was great... Didn't think that Ashton Kutcher could be so good! |

For some reason I just can't take Kusher seriously. I saw this movie, thought it was okay, but got a bit stressed out towards the end. No doubt it was intended to be suspenceful but I reacted kinda negatively to it unfortunately.

Back to the topik- I saw it and I think it was nice movie. Didn't think it looked like sanitarium. Not 'its all in mind' type .

I wasn't expecting much from this movie because of Ashton Kutcher, but I was pleasantly surprised. Really was a solid film.

The main issue with The Butterfly Effect is that it's completely unbelievable. I mean, that kid must have had one of the worst childhood in history: dogs, father, bad neighbours, lost girlfriend. I even wonder how he managed to get to university without being thrown in a mental institution or killing someone first! And then of course, when he tries to get things right, they only get worse and it becomes even more unbelievable. I've never known individuals with such a traumatic childhood, but I don't really think they can become quiet and relaxed types like Asthon Kutcher.
Oh and of course there are other issues, the actors for example. I mean, what the hell? The kids act better than the 'adults'! Kutcher's mom has a squicky ratty voice that is unbearable (and quite unbelievable later in the hospital), Kutcher's face is always between 'hey what is going on?' and 'hell, I'd really use a beer now' and Amy Smart makes me think about Mtv Scrubs. The only one I liked was Ethan Suplee, mostly cause of his Seth role in American History X. Know what? Despite all that, I liked the movie, but there must be OBVIOUSLY something wrong with me here. Gotta see it again
