my self drops away from me

Shackled, trammelled, constrained;
my soul breaks away
and it floats.
Free of its prison, free of its self,
free of each and every bind;
the beautiful, fragile paradox of self.

Pain can no longer harm,
instead buoys me up, up,
ever higher.
No limits to where my poor,
once imprisoned soul may rise,
free of all its usual ties.

Your hand guides me there,
and your gaze.
So I am not surprised
and nor are you,
that it only takes a glance
to send me into space.
