It was really tedious experience and I abandoned it just before the ending.

Yes it was a wonderfully compelling movie. It had this very specific "french touch" to it.

And as for From Hell - it was well-played, fantasticly presented (the reproduction of London is almost perfect) story but it lacks some real suspense.

Personally I was excited enough, but I guess it COULD be chalked up as the Johnny Depp syndrome...
