Default The April Fools Thread 2004

Ok it's that time of year again; people put up 'hilarious' hoax web pages, news stories etc. Lets collect as many as possible here.

I'll start with this one from BBC News Online:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3588933.stm
Google is apparently launching it's own Gmail service; with 1gb of free email storage...

Considering their expanding market it's only natural they're opening up a new facility.

LEC have cancelled yet another adventure game: http://www.barnettcollege.com/index2.htm

Edit: I thought AGA linked to AG's own April fool. Never mind.

I really liked one of last years stories about the guy who came back to 2003 in a time machine and swept the stock market clean and became a bajjillionaire in a matter of a few weeks.

I actually believed it for a while...

That was very funny; though it wasn't an April Fools joke; it was just a Hoax from Wierd Weekly News or whatever it's called. But what a hoax hehe

The best april fools jokes/fake news are those that you believe until you've read the final line and remember what day it is. News that noone will believe (like "Estonia was kicked out of NATO") are not that funny to me, but our billiards federation sent an e-mail that I really believed for a while (too long to bother translating). They also did the best joke last year and quite a few persons bought it.

Well, see, in those cases the spelling errors serve to prove the documents' authenticity.

DUDE
April first is over and it's still there!
And it's not 100mb, it's 1GB.

Do you realise how fucking large 1Gb is for a mail box!? I doubt if this is for real... Lets say a few million people open such an account, I really want to take a look in the server building then...

They probably won't allow storing attachment in this 1GB limit. That way no one will actually reach it.

THat would be the only point of having this account, however.
