Default Google...Spiders?

I just checked the "Who's online" section and read that there are four visitors descripted as "Google (Googlebot) Spider". Anyone would be so kind and explain to me what are those?

Its the Google server crawling the site and updating the information at Google so AG forum pages will show up when you do a relevant Google search. Its scary how frequently Googlebots are seen in userlists like that.

So the forum software recognises these and even list them with a username? Facinating...
