Indeed it looked like a very relaxing vacation Jelena. We had a labrador twenty years ago who looked like Jaffa on that picture most of the time. We didn't let her swim in the sea though because we were afraid she might drink too much seawater.

You do have a wonderful eye. The chicken picture is my favourite! Can I have it? It's time to change desktop anyway, Annabel's eye scares my family. Btw I love the look of the llama. It sure looks stupid.

The owl was the most pityable. No cage is ever big enough for birds of prey.
They also had big white owls: Very beautiful creatures. And do you see how low the ceiling of the cage is? Poor animals. What is a good translation of the Dutch word 'zielig' in English? Those animals were zielig. |

And here I am again reviving this thread. Come on people, post your pictures and snapshots!
Some pictures of my vacation in Maastricht and Aachen. The bar of a cafe in Maastricht where we had breakfast: The two most important churches of Maastricht are built conveniently close to each other. Left the St. Jan, right the St. Servaes. The St. Servaes had a treasury where the most amazing things were displayed. Detail of the bust of St. Servaes: The cross St. Servaes used to wear on his chest. This thingy is more than 1600 years old! Servatius died in Maastricht in 384. My father and I wondered why the legs of the figurine are cut off. In the many caves they cut out over the past 2000 years in the area surrounding Maastricht they found the sceleton of this giant turtle: A small castle that is now used as a hotel: The Aachen City Hall: The church in Aachen, opposite the city hall. The photo was taken from a big ferris wheel they had put in the square between the buildings. We only saw the inside of the 8-sided thing in the middle of the church. It was full of mosaics like this one. Absolutely amazing: There are many more pictures. You can find them by clicking on the first picture I posted. |

Unfortunately not. It was cheaper than the hotel we had in Maastricht, and quite close to Maastricht too. And much more fun of course! It also had a nice garden next to it and a watermill.

I went out and saw a 50's/60's tribute band recently, and the drummer had the same haircut as that cow!

Here's the bull that was in the same field as the cow. It is growing its horn into its own head! Horrbible:
No god would let that happen to the creatures it created. Last edited by tsa; 09-29-2010 at 12:26 PM. |
