Default Anyone here good at Mircosoft Excel?!

I'm having trouble finishing this chart on excel and I have a few questions. Hopefully some of you can help.

1. Why does B6 show up as 9000%? I'm trying to type in "90", but it shows up as that when I enter it.
2. Why is it when I type a total into C3, it shows up as a date?
3. How do I get the total and average on side, as a collum?

Thanks!

I would check the formatting for both of these. (Highlight the cell, then on the menu Format>Cells>Number) At first glance, it looks like Excel is changing your input to fit Percentage and Date number formatting, respectively.

For totals, type this into the Row 3 "Total" cell:

Code:
=SUM(B3:J3)
Then copy that Total cell and paste into each other Total cell in turn... Excel should auto-change the row numbers for you.

You could also highlight that Total cell, hover over the lower right corner edge until you see a black cross, click, drag it down until every empty cell is highlighted, then let go.

For averages the formula is as follows:

Code:
=AVERAGE(B3:J3)
Same instructions for populating the other rows.

Hopefully this helps you out, and all those hours creating D&D character sheets in Excel proves to be useful after all.

Peace & Luv, Liz

"I like the idea of Oompa Loompa Elementals."

Microsoft excel? Don't those two words completely contradict each other?

Can we not turn this into a rant against Microsoft, please?
