Commodore fans reunite
Hahah, this is so awesome.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMLsQ...elated&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUKUH...elated&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pYMH...elated&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyiUH...elated&search= There's many more to be found. See the related links that pop up when you go to youtube. LOL, this is soooooo 80s and cheesy and funny. What Commodore computers did you own? Or do you still own? C64 and Amiga500 for me. Sold them, though. My bro still has a C64 with both a floppy disk and a tape drive. edit: Err, I'd like to edit the topic. Oh whatever.

Thanks for the times you've given me.
The memories are all in my mind. And now that we've come to the end of our Rainbow. There something I must say out loud. ZX Spectrum Rulez.

Heheh, that Apple bashing video was awesome.
I or more likely my brother owned a Vic-20 that I still have in my closet, we also had a Commodore 128, that we sold so we could get an Amiga 500. I foolishly sold that so I could buy a 486 PC. Today I still own the Vic-20 as I already said, I've also acquired some years ago a Commodore 64 and also an Amiga 500.

Cool. I've never really seen a Vic in action. Today I'm using emulator stuff, but I do that pretty often.
Oh, and Lucien: I did own a 128K Amstrad machine during the later half of the 80s myself though... after the floppy drive broke, it was about time for another computer. Since most boys and girls in school were using Commodore computers, and I always felt kinda left out, I bought one myself. Seeing everybody trading floppy disks like crazy while you couldn't join in the fun makes you feel that way. I forgot to post the link to this ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_f3u...elated&search= This is the ULTIMATE in 80s retro ad shit, a total classic, from the jingle to the blonde girl and her totally faked smile... The mere thought that this once ran on TV... great! Oh, and thanks for editing, whoever it was.

My trusty AMIGA 500 still sits on my shelf and is occasionally fetched to be used.

Well, here's some Lionel Richie for you then!

Some Amiga stuff. The date: Christmas 1990. A friend of mine got an Amiga computer, I was still toying around with that oldschool 8bit stuff, Maniac Mansion, Wizard Of Wor, whathaveyou. And nearly fell off my chair while seeing and hearing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gh_RgvmO3bQ Man, I really couldn't believe it. Probably the first time ever my jaw dropped because of a video game. Or better, its intro, that is. Even if the Amiga and Commodore's approach in marketing it helped to break the company's neck in the end, it's beyond wicked that all of this was running on hardware that was already being sold in 1985. So ahead of its time... a shame.

I haven't been able to watch the videos yet. I had a VIC-20 when they first came out (I think I was 12). I kind of remember doing simple programming (using the BASIC language) and I think (my memory is hazy when it comes to games) playing Caterpillar and Frogger and other arcade type games. I wish I could remember more. I remember I loved it.

Isn't that the most beautiful computer ever??? Nice. I wish they'd have the comical value of the Vic20/C64 ones.

I wish I could claim that, but I am afraid my computer geek factor is not high enough for that. Though I've always loved the idea. -

Bah, a colour monitor.
Quote:
Tell me more about it, I think that's exactly what happened to mine. We sent it in to get it repaired one day and when it came back the guy said we should be careful, cause a jolt could get it to be broken again... and one day, -WHAM-. Disk error. Retry, Ignore or Cancel? R Disk error. Retry, Ignore or Cancel? R Disk error.... . . Let's try to guess where it's from! I can see an Ö, an Ä but no Ü on the keyboard, and the setup is QWERTY instead of QWERTZ, so it definitely isn't a German Amiga. Hm... Sweden? Finland?! Another classic Amiga game intro. It doesn't have the OMFG!!!!11 eye and ear candy of the Blood Money one, but it demonstrates that British software houses always had a heck of a lot of style. -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avpMl9HftUA

I almost forgot: Did anyone of you ever hear about "The Deathbed Vigil and other Tales of Digital Angst"? I picked this up on Wikipedia. It's supposed to be a video showing the last employes at Commodore celebrating the end, my friend. As in: "Hey, the World will be no more tomorrow, here's our last dance!" I wonder if it's available on the net somewhere.
Ah, found something: http://www.frogpondmedia.com/dbv/video.html

I think I'll stick with Caprice32 in that case (emulator). Fab thing. I was a bit shocked how all my games would have looked like in colour, actually. Thankfully there's an option to switch from colour to green. Awesome.

At least the keyboards on my Amigas looked exactly like that.
