Default My Speeding Ticket(s) Update

Remeber that thread I started way back when about how I got a speeding ticket, and what I should do to get out of it, and then everyone gave me shit for trying to get out of it? Well, since that first one, I had gotten another one like...2 weeks after it. Don't know if I posted about it or not, but there you go. Anyway, since you've all been waiting on the edge of your seat, I got out of both of them, plead guilty to a broken speedometer and paid a fine. Teh end.

Pleading guilty and paying a fine doesn't sound like getting out of the tickets, to me.

There is a book called How to Beat Your Ticket and Win (or something like that). I've never had reason to use it, but my boyfriend did, and then passed it around to some of his friends. Everyone who's used it has gotten out of the ticket (so far).

I've had some parking tickets I would have liked to contest (one where the ticket claimed I was parked in a street cleaning zone but I wasn't, and the other where I had just been in a car accident and parked my rental car in a restricted area forgetting that it was a rental car and didn't have my parking permit on it), but it wasn't worth the hassle.

My insurance remains untouched. Thus I got out of it.

What's a street cleaning zone?

You see them a lot in cities. They're streets that the city cleans with mechanical street sweeper trucks, so they're usually designated no-parking for a couple hours once a week (usually in the early morning) so the trucks can hit the curb/gutter.

That's good to know. 2 more weeks and I'll be driving and parking in these streets myself!
