For those who saw the movie can you please tell me what you thought about it? Thanks.

One of the most laughable movies dealing with such a serious subject I've ever seen. Incredibly overrated.

I thought it was very awesome and very disturbing. It gripped me with both its content, its music and the novel way of editing.

I liked it a lot more 4 years ago than I do today. One of those movies suffering the Donnie Darko syndrome, the symptoms being that it'll have a cult following because the movie is seemingly deep but is really quite shallow.

I don't really recommend the movie, but it has a certain engaging style and the music is nice.

This was the most heart breaking movie I've ever seen, I mean seriously this movie made me think and care a lot, specially for the old lady. Seriously heart breaking.

I don't think Donnie Darko's appeal lies in its depth (which isn't considerable, I agree, even though the SF premise is quite interesting), but in its unique style, humor, popcultural references and tongue in cheek treatment of cliches. Great, and I mean GREAT characterization helps, too. I didn't particularly like it the first time I saw it - the girl that made me watch it was totally obsessed with it and I really couldn't see what the fuss was all about - but since then I've seen it at least five more times and with each viewing my appreciation for it increases.

Requiem for a dream, on the other hand, feels like cheap propaganda with little artistic or even entertaining value. The two main characters are nothing but hollow outlines, archetypal beautiful kids whose lives are ruined by drugs. The casting is off, too - Leto and Connelly are pretty much incapable of not looking stunning, even in the moments in which their characters are supposed to be hitting the very bottom of existence. The story is a moralizing nonsense, overly pathetic and completely predictable, and Aronofsky's flashy directing just didn't get to me like it did in Pi. He should've cut everything but Ellen Burstyn's scenes out, now that could've been some thirty minutes worthy of my time.

I've seen it twice, and loved it both times. It's perverse, making the spectator the fascinated witness of self-destruction, simple, efficient, and stunning.

When I was leaving the movie theater after the second viewing, I noticed a girl that was still seated, eyes popping out of her face, clutching at her armrests, almost trembling. I couldn't blame her.

I kind of agree with you. It didn't make me sad, but it was funny sometimes, mainly the parts about being haunted by food. The movie never made me care about the characters. As far as I could tell they only had themselves to blame, and I'm not going to give pity for something like that.

I've never seen this movie, yet, I always wanted to. So I looked for the trailer on youtube. What I actually got to see was the entire ending, in all its ever downward spiraling...glory. I'm feeling sick now. Help.

Well, true. Damnit, I was hoping for the infamous a... to a... scene to make an appearance. It IS toy story after all!

I haven't seen it. I'd probably just be disappointed by the lack of pi.

Nerd. Are these the only two movies from that Aronofsky guy?

It's a fantastic film. I cared about the characters and was heart broken to see their downward spiral. A great film with a great score.

My 2 cents.
