Default World Cup 2006 -Predictions

I'm running this on JA+ so I thought it wouldn't be all that much more hassle to run it here are well as the spreadsheet is all formulas. (I'll keep seperate leaderboards on the spreadsheet)

So here goes

************************************************** ****
It's WORLD CUP TIME.

Kick off Friday 9th June for 4 weeks of fantastic football.

So how about a little bit of Fun with the WORLD CUP PREDICTION GAME

I've copied the rules from our ever popular Champions League Game so here goes.

Rules

1. All games will be predicted. If you miss any you will lose out on points but can still predict on later games

2. Scores are as at final whistle (90 mins) Extra time and penalties DO NOT COUNT

3. Predictions posted in thread cannot be edited once game has started. Any that are will be forfeited.

Scoring system

1 point for correctly predicting winning team
1 point for correct goal difference (i.e Predict England to win by 1 goal get one point)
1 point for getting exact score

making a maximum of 3 points per game.

I thought for a change we could add some bonus points

5 points for predicting the winner outright from the start
5 points for predicting who will pick up the Golden Boot award for most goals.

************************************************** ******************************
*********************************************

Predictions can be posted into this thread daily if you so desire or if you have a copy of excel on your PC you can fill in the attached spreadsheet and e-mail it to the address in my profile.

HAVE FUN AND GOOD LUCK

I'm going to have to enter this just so that I can laugh when I beat you all despite a total lack of knowledge about football...

I'm going to play too even though my lack of knowledge will be apparent. It sounds like fun!

Don't worry! I'm only acquainted with some of the European teams.

Got them and plugged them in.

Good Luck LenaJ

If you want the bonus points give me an overall winner and a Golden Boot winner (Which player will score the most goals)

Good spreadsheet thingy mate, I like the way it calculates the following rounds. One question, I've finished the spreadsheet (with the only possible outcome of course!) but how do I attach it in an email to you? I tried the 'send an email' link in your profile but can't see how to attach stuff. Sorry for being dumb. Cheers.

Sorry I thought it would open up outlook.

Either just copy/paste the guesses into the text box or use outlook to send the file to Email Here

P.s I didn't create the spreadsheet. I'm just "borrowing it" for our purpose.

Whatever way you want to Sam as long as the predictions are posted her or emailed before the games start. So you could do it daily and just predict the next few games at a time or do all of the group stage now.

Up to you.
