Perhaps if you try giving some calm advice about how the reverse topic concept actually works...

Now listen, let's take it calm, OK? I don't think I'm going to have to break into government facilities to steal sensitive materials.

And besides, I can just do it myself. I think. I just need a formula. Though that has its moral dilemmas, as I'm sure Hammerite knows well.

I'm just not sure how it can tell something like that. I think you've misunderstood the idea of a reverse topic. You won't actually move differently in time, you know... (It's just a forum thread, not, like, actual thread or anything)

BUT I WANT TO TRAVEL BACKWARDS IN TIME SO I CAN KILL THE THREAD™ EARLIER! I DESERVE IT! I'M THAT AWESOME!

You promised me you could help, so what's keeping you? The need to steal documents from the powers-that-be?

WAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

Dude, not everyone gets to go to the way-back machine or push the wheel at the Orchid Station on the island. Just sayin'...

I have decided to mess with your thread and your feeble mortal minds by using my time machine. This first post, being made in present time is only to announce that I will tell a multi-part story, but, for each subsequent post, I will travel further back in time, thus confusing the hell out of you, as the story should make absolutely no sense until you catch up with me in the present and read it backwards. I lol'd

Saying so again and again won't make it true. But it's as he said in the original post, you never know--stranger things have happened. But really, what do you think you can do to screw up the linear flow of this thread?

Sure, Squinky, why not? I will be your boyfriend. May I wear this jacket on our first date (I worry the pattern might be too linear)?

One thing I have to warn you upfront, though: I won't ever be able to marry you. My career (which I'd prefer not to discuss publically until there is a good reason to) makes that impossible. But you don't mind the relationship without marriage, do you? No, you don't. You are a liberal, so of course you don't. Do you? Nah, you don't.

After this post, all the posts about Project Daedelus will cease to exist.
The subject will completely change.

Should the posts about Project Daedelus be seen in some way - say by writing the remaining parts of the thread in reverse as a plan to somehow reach the mindset of each user and determine everything they could have written (running these through numerous algorithms and 'puter cleverness to reach the conclusive definite true posts) - then God help us... God help us all.

No, that is absolutely not a good idea! I had a really good argument against that sort of behavior, but, um.. I can't exactly remember it. But no! And he wouldn't like it either, I'm absolutely sure of it. Don't you know anything about dating?

..wait a minute. This is it, this exact post I'm writing! This is the part where I was supposed to come up with Project Daedelus, which ended the world and necessitated this time-trip. If only I had more control over the timing of the landing... sigh. Well, at least I'm finally here, even if I did need to sit through some of this obnoxious dating-talk to do it. Now all I need to do is not tell anyone about Project Daedelus, and then it'll all be.. darn. I mentioned Project Daedelus already. No chance I can just pretend I didn't mention that name.. darn. Okay, then let's say Project Daedelus is a totally hypothetical project. Yes. Hypothetically speaking, if I accidentally set into motion a sequence of events that led to the end of the world, but then I went back in time (Ha ha ha, how impossible.) and at the exact post where I was supposed to start the whole thing I instead wrote what I'm writing now, and no one ever even heard the name Project Daedelus in their lives except for this post here which you probably won't even be able to make heads or tails out of because it's so rambly and is about stuff which you haven't even been paying attention to, well, what would happen to the project? There's no destiny or anything like that, right? Just by writing this post the way I'm writing it, I've made sure that there's no Project Daedelus, right? Um, hypothetically, that is. Would this post be enough to save everyone?

I can't believe someone whom we've all trusted was the mastermind behind all that from the very beginning. The good guys ultimately won, but how many sacrifices had to be made along the way?

So I guess we can officially proclaim that Project YCARUS was a disaster. If we ever revisit this idea, I propose the design of its next incarnation to be based on animal fats. The plants are so overrated as far as energy sources are concerned.

EDIT: Fixed a little typo.

I'm sorry you had to see that. I can explain... Friends, as a founding member of YCARUS, I have an admission to make.

That whole scene in the piazza was more or less a result of a gaff on my part. It started as a slip of the tongue, and was followed by some ill-fated damage control. Other factions got involved, for their own benefit, and that just complicated matters.

Suffice it to say, central could do nothing to stop it, and so it was up to me to correct things, but I'm regretful that it cost so much.

Believe me, I did not plan it this way!

Alright, you've taken all that I've got. Could you just please now put it back in this pale, slowly, for me to regurgitate?

And if Hammerite posts something next, I bet that the thread will be dead for months.
