1906 San Fran Quake
If you hadn't heard - today @ 5:12 am (PST, GMT minus 7 hours) was the 100th anniversary of the Great San Francisco earthquake.

Yeah I saw it on the news, kind of makes you think it can happen again at any time. Perhaps there wouldn't be so many deaths now (better quake 'resistent' architecture and emergency services etc.), then again SF's population has almost doubled since then, so ofcourse it wouldn't be a pretty picture. Even huge cities are like little playthings for mother nature
