Default Another Serenity Thread

Got the Region 3 DVD box, same features as the UK - and, I believe, that means more than the US version for some reason...

Anyhow, made me really upset. Great ending. This is how a sci-fi film should be - characters to care for, witty script, good bad guy... development. That's what's lacking in nearly all recent Hollywood pictures, those shiny (not) ones that are wrought out every year to the general public's dis-satisfaction.

Should make a bomb on DVD, like it's series predecessor. And yeah, about a billion times better as a movie than that CGI-fest Kong and it's bad attempts at making me care about gorillas skidding on their asses.

I'm still debating importing the 2 DVD Australian version. I'm a mite lazy, though, and am loathed to hack my drive to region free .

I didn't know about a 2-disc. I know the UK is a 1-disc. Whats the difference?

Australian DVD's spin in the opposite direction.

Extra deleted scenes, a Q&A session with Joss and a couple of other behind the scenes things (tour of the ship is one).

OK, my Region 4 2-disc version is now on order. Assuming they don't have any problem with my card I should get a more complete DVD set a good week or so before the UK release.

Of course, the trade-off is that I have to watch it on this PC, but that's most likely where I would have watched it anyway ...

Yeah, region 4 has got the best extras.

I might order it, but I already have r2 on preorder, maybe I'll have to buy r4 too.

The special features on the Firefly set itself were rubbish though, weren't they? I was looking forward to the "tour of the set" (or whatever), but it turned out to be about 10 seconds of Joss walking through a room and the rest was made up of random clips from the show and ridiculous fast pans around the set, too quick to see anything. RUBBISH!

True. I was just copy/pasting from a website .

The others are definitely exclusive to the Australian and possibly Dutch and German versions, according to at least one source. And apparently the Q&A session is the whole recording, and not a 15 minute extract as some people were suspecting.

Yay, my Australian disc arrived today. And guess what? It's a Region 2/4 disc, so it will play in European players with no problem!

I cancelled my order of the R2 version, I'm going to get that Australian version.

I recommend www.ezydvd.com.au - they delivered it in a week, and it only cost ~£14/15...

I was thinking about using Cd-wow.

But I'll check that site, thanks Lacey.

Ah, CD-WOW weren't offering the Australian release at the time.

Either way, EzyDVD worked out cheaper for me .

If anyone's interested I found a story about a week ago, apparantly Adam Baldwin is hosting a documentary on Serenity.
