In Finnish, it's kaksituhattaluku. In formal conversation the years 2005 is referred to as nollaviisi, in even more formal kaksituhattaviisi. Casually it's kakstuhattaviis or nollaviis. Saying large numbers in Finnish has never felt like such a mouthful to me when compared to the English equivalents with all the ands.

Whew! I guess it's what you're used to! "Two thousand five" sounds much easier to me.

Keep in mind, this is the age of craptology. And, to quote someone, we're a nation full of envy, insecure and losing sleep. I'd call it: Coffee&TV.

The Roaring 20s, and the Postmodern 80s.

What Do We Call This Decade? | National Public Radio, 12/18/05

Quote:
Talk of the Nation, December 28, 2005 · We had the '70s, the '80s, the '90s. But as we approach the halfway point of this decade, we still have no name for it. What do we call this decade?

I was thinking about it earlier and decided the Zeroes works best for me. Though I LOVE the Noughts (or Naughts, I don't care), because it sounds better and classier. The Zips sound awful. Like... the Zits.
