Fair enough. I still saw it as something worthy to complain about, because, you know, a lot of people actually think that way.

Apparently, whiny people won't shut up until you finally scream at them to.

A word or two on American Urban Slang-
"Homies" refers to people who are from the same area or neighborhood as you and/or the people with whom you grew up.

The correct term for any hangers-on you might have would be your "posse".

I had a posse once. In school a few of my best friends and I were put in the same tutor group, and our tutor quickly noticed that we always travelled around together in our little gang, so she commented that we were a posse. In response I labelled her as "The Sheriff", and it was a name that stuck for the next two years we were with her.

Those were the days... [/flashback sequence]

You didn't find that having a bunch of people around you all the time cramped your style?

We were a small clique. Plus, I'm pretty hot and cold with people, I tend to have a few close friends and be indifferent to everyone else.

And did those feet in ancient time
walk upon England's mountains green?

What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight
