Good luck, emma! I have a feeling this is going to be the only one of the LOTR movies I don't see on opening day, judging from accounts like these...

Well, I got tickets, but it was damn close I didn't make it for the premier date, since they were almost all out!!! Got for the later show, but it's good enough, as long as it's on the premier date.
As I was standing in the line, we had to waddle through the various left-overs from the campers, and that was an interesting experience. For instance, there was a scotch-brite on the ground, you know a sponge with one corse side and one soft. Now why would anybody bring an item like that? The various thermoses and batteries scattered around was kind of self-explanatory. A pair of socks, also a stretch, but can kind of figure out why they'd be there. My conclusion, fans of LOTR are a terribly messy crew...

Yeah, they didn't release them until now. Something about Peter Jackson not having been able to send finished copies to the censor-board, so that they could decide which age-limit it's going to be, lol! Lucky you! A month ago! Wow...

Did you get a good seat, though?
I mean, watching a movie on the first or second row isn't always a pleasure --Erwin

Well, I have to admit, I prefer the front row seats to the back row. I don't wanna have too many distractions between me and the screen, hehehehe! Row four or five in the big ones, usually are my fav'seats! Row four, this time around, in a theatre I'm very familiar with so I know I got good seats!

In my experience, it's an absolute hell sitting in the front row when watching movies with any kind of fast action in it. I remember sitting on the third row on SW - Episode II...When Yoda started fighting all I saw was a blur of blue and green
Anyways, got my LOTR tickets in August (or was it early September?)

Matthew is supposed to be buying tickets in advance for us to see the movie soon after the release date. He's the die-hard Lord of the Rings fan--I'm just along for the ride.

Me, I like the front seats. But then again, I'm frustratingly short.

Maybe there's a difference between how far away the front row is from the screen.
I mean, in most theatres I've been, I had to turn my head from left to right (like when crossing a street) if I wanted to read the subtitles. And I'd also have to sit on my neck to see anything. And everything is blurry. It's like watching TV trough a cylinder or with those winkers horses wear. --Erwin

Movies in the front row are fun when A) you're with a group or B) the movie doesn't have a lot of fast-moving action. It's occaisionally entertaining to see someone's dimples twice your size. Then again, I'm more a fan of 6-8 rows back. |

I got my tickets last week, but I'm going to have to return them, I was in a knee surgery on monday morning and my leg is kind of serious condition right now, and sitting in a tight spaced movie theater ain't best for my leg right now...
Maybe in January, then I'll go see Lotr:Rotk |
