Hey, Flyboy. Welcome.
So, what's up with you and adventure games? What can we expect? Do you like old fashioned point and click, cutting edge conceptual 3D ufos, or *gasp* both? Do you like cheese? Tell us about yourself, man!

Hey there! Welcome to the forum! It's great here, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
*pulls flyboy aside* We break for it at dawn. Bring a candle, some good, strong rope, a copy of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and a pair of forceps.

I'm not too sure what's up with me and adventure games. My dad got a computer in '88 or so and that was pretty much it for me. It didn't occur to me until recently just how much I really love adventure games, although I haven't played much after the mid 90s (although I'm convinced there's still good stuff being made). I love the classic typing games as well as point and click, although I recall being pissed off for quite some time that you could no longer type things like "pick nose" during the game. Like everyone else who checks these forums, I have plans to work on my own game, although there isn't much info about that that I'm willing to divulge just yet. Otherwise, what can you expect from me? I don't know. Hopefully some nice comments from time to time, maybe a few laughs, and I'm always more than happy to stir shit up - if I'm allowed to say that. I've been reading these forums for a bit and I like to think that I have a good deal to say about these topics. Adventure gaming is in my blood. I grew up on it and can talk about it to no end. I'm pretty sure this is the right place for me. It just might take a bit of time to catch up on all the inside jokes. And thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. |

Ooh, so you're not aware of the huge fights we've had over issues like "3D/keyboard controls/action is killing adventure games"? Read here, then and take heed...

*doot* *doot* *Ka-Ching* (Recorded voice): Hello and welcome to the forums, and Base of Operations of her "Finally I got you! Igrette 1, Fly 0! WOO!" *looks at phone* "Oh." *picks phone up with some difficulty due to her claws* "Hello? No, I'm not mommy - I mean Jazhara. No, she can't come to the phone. Yes, she's here. No, she's not dead. She's playing Neverwinter Nights. Also, she is studying the reports on the last conflicts on the Squirrel front. That's grey squirrels, of course. The Red ones are allies. Oh! She just came outside to get the Tea. Yes, I'll tell her that you want to be a minion - will that be a mad minion or regular minion? The mad ones get an extra shipping of cheese doodles." *listens* "Alright. Well, you can pick up your free cheese doodles at the information, and be sure to try the Pumpkin soup in the Cafeteria - Her highness' mother made it herself. It's delicious. Oh, and let me make you aware of the fact that we have a special offer of Brass Lanterns, graciously donated by Mr. Grue. He says it is because he is trying to get rid of bad habits. I suggest you take that offer. Hope to see you again soon!" *sound of Phone being hung up* *doot* *doot* *doot* -

Speaking of cheese. The political science guild in my Uni that I'm now a part of had a question in a magazine they publish: What it means to be a member of the guild? One guy had answered: 42 and cheese.
That totally cracked me up and made me think of both H2G3 and Marek. |
