Default Congrats to the Chicago White Sox! A World Series sweep!

Very nicely done. I've never seen an offense as inept as Houston's, but that takes nothing away from what the Sox did. They were 10-1 in the playoffs and it's their first championship since 1917 so... Nice job White Sox.

Of course I'd rather it were my boys in there again, but I can certainly appreciate what this means for people in Chicago.

Now if only it could happen for the Cubs...

First the Red Sox win the pennant, and now the White Sox.
Has Hell in fact frozen over?

I'm sad to see the Astros lose. But I guess the best team won.

There's no doubt the best team won. Great teams don't collapse on the biggest stage the way the Astros did. The White Sox remained calm and focused. They deserved it big time. After the Astros went down 3-0 in the series, I was hoping they'd get swept. They need to be as embarrassed by this as humanly possible.

Ha-ha.
It's a bone-chilling 43 degrees farenheit (6 degrees celsius) here in Birmingham, but Birmingham isn't actually Hell...

...it's just Hell-adjacent.

It's a sweep! It's a sweep! Yeah!!

Glad to know that the Angels lost out to the WS champs again for the second year running, and not to some pretenders!

(Although I must admit, I'll be happy to see the Family Guy back on its regular night and time.)

So how many countries actually compete in this "world" series?

Two, in theory

"The World" = US + Canada, apparently. The name is more of a marketing thing than an accurate description.

Funny, I was thinking the opposite. Something along the lines of "Man, I'm glad fov's boys didn't make it in there again!"

Hey, it's more than a theory. I direct you to '92 & '93.

I'm glad the Sox won so we don't have to keep hearing about what a big whoop-dee-doo Boston winning it last year was.

That was just a statistical anomaly

Actually, you guys kind of got cheated out of half of your MLB teams, with WDC stealing the Expos.

I am so proud to be a Chicagoan right now, even if I'm no longer living there. big R and I watched the game last night. It wasn't as climactic for me, but then I was never much a sports fan. I am, however, still supportive for my home teams.

We are
the champions,
my friend!!
