Default Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid

Just out of curiosity, how many have seen this movie? It's possibly one of the best examples of clever editing you'll ever see.

Absolutely one of my favorite Steve Martin vehicles.

Also, it was the last movie that legendary costume designer Edith Head worked on. She passed away during the post production, and there was a nice tribute to her in the closing credits.

Is this the film where they filmed footage and inserted/composited into existing classic Noir film scenes? Being a Noir fan, I guess I need to track it down.

Yeah, I'm watching Steve Martin talk to Cary Grant right now

"Luckily, I always carry my harmonica. It's lighter than an accordion, and more powerful than a sleeping pill."

Unfortunately, I'm watching it on my parents' TiVo, and it's one of those sad third party TiVo units that sometimes behave kind of suspiciously, so there's occasional video freezing. Oh well, at least I own the DVD, and I have fresh cookies to tide me through my MPEG woes

I saw the last 15 minutes of it last night. Hilarious. I was watching and something didn't seem quite right, until I realized they were using footage from old movies against new footage with Steve Martin in it. I consider it even more brilliant that it was a mix of a whole bunch of different movies formed to make one movie. I want to see the whole thing. Now.

I watched it this summer and, well, I guess there were a few funny moments but most of the time I wasn't that interested. I liked the way they had mixed up all the old footage though. That was very successfully done.

Definitely one of Steve Martin's funniest films, alongside "The Man With 2 Brains"

I've seen this movie two times. It's one of Steve Martin's best movies, that's for sure.
