The Dhrrrrink Thread
OK, I could kickstart it off with wine talk, but this thread is all about EVERY DRINK, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, under the sun that you recommend.
Rather than start it myself, I'm going to lie in wait for Treps' no doubt wonderful recommendations for cocktails. I'm currently drinking San Miguel, although recently I've been drinking a lot of Corona, which appears to have become quite popular - probably as it's very light. And comes with lime, which makes it taste even nicer! SO... take it away!

I drink lots of long-life apple and orange juice (literally by the litre), Coke and diluted blackcurrent cordial. I'm still waiting for my teeth to fall out...
By the way, did I mention again that I have no fridge in my room? So any cold drinks are out . |

Wanna try some ginseng wine from Korea? They are supposed to strengthen your yang if you know what I mean.

My mom would make a batch of this particular drink (dry mix) around Christmastime every year (it was a treat I definitely looked forward to).
It's called Russian tea but I have no earthly clue why: Basically you mix Tang, instant lemonade, instant tea, sugar, cloves and cinnamon and then add hot water. I haven't had it for ages. |

I have some Vodka, Cacao liquor, Violet liquor, and some Cointreau (orange alcohol).
So usually I just try out some mix of those, with some grape or grapefruit juice, and some ice.

I'm addicted to diet coke, and also love Malibu and lemonade, and have a penchant for trying different cocktails. Had a very nice one the other night with malibu, taboo (a flavoured vodka drink) and 2 kinds of J2O. Oh yeah, I'm also very fond of baileys, but don't get the chance to drink it much.

There's this one drink: water. In Finland it even comes out of taps and you can drink it right away. It is quite strong however.
Ha ha... Well, that was inevitable. Someone had to do it, I just figured I'd get it over with. Of course we have the good thing here that at least usually you can drink tap water. |

Growing up in Montreal, I had the chance to experience a most unusual libation called spruce beer. It was non-alcoholic, and we'd get it at the local store. It came in tall glass bottles with a porcelain spring cap; opening it was like opening champagne. Lots of bubbles, it was a treat in the hot summer. It was microbrewed, and there was always some yeasty sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Definitely an aquired taste, I grew to love it and wish it was more accessible. I once found some spruce flavored pop in a store in northern Ontario, but it didn't come close to my bière d'épinette .

I think this is called a Drunken Frog but I'll check that.
You'll need. Shot glass, Medori (melon liquer), Advocaat, Grenadine (just a dash. Half fill the shot glass with Medori. Gently top it up with Advocaat (if you do it right you should end up with two separate layers of drink) Put a drop of Grenadine in the middle (should go through both layers and spread out on the bottom) Then down in one.

I have three favorite drinks.
One is root beer. Love the stuff. My favorite store variety is a brand called Stewart's, but I love the rare occasions when I can get my hands on some indie brand root beer somewhere. The indie beer always has these wonderfully weird and unique flavors even the good store-bought stuff doesn't. Two is lemonade. I love lemonade, the sourer the better. Basically with just enough sugar so that you technically can't call it lemon juice any more. The Ben & Jerry's in my hometown used to make awesome fresh-squeezed lemonade... mmmmmmm. Three is iced tea. My favorite variety is lemonade iced tea (hey, best of both worlds!) but raspberry iced tea is a delightful second place at restaurants. My runner-up drink is a Shirley Temple. I love those. Got introduced to them by a helpful waiter in New York as a wee girl, and I like to have one every now and then. Peace & Luv, Liz

Red Diamond Iced Tea- unsweetened.
Red Diamond Coffee- black. Mount Gay Rum and Coke- on the rocks, no fruit. Okay, maybe a cherry now and then. ScottMate

First off there's COFFEE
COFFEE keeps me going, it's black like fuel and bassicly works the same way, on me at least. It should not be spoiled by cream or sugar though, oh yeah and make it as strong as possible. "You want some coffee?" "Yeah, just give me a slice " On the side of alcoholic beverages I'm really fond of Irish Malt Whiskey -> Bushmills But since this is either unavailable or too expensive in most bars I usually stick to my old friend Jack. Note that it should not be spoiled by mixing it or adding water or ice. Straight Up suits me fine...

Coffee at work.
Water or wine when eating. Beer (especially from Belgium) and lots of strong alcohols when going out, (and Long Island Ice Tea of course ). Aspirin on Sunday mornings

Since I live in the number one beer country of the world (which is Belgium, for you non-educated people), I try to honour that legacy as much as possible.
I drink water and beer. And a lot it. I don't really drink anything else regularly. |
