I have been on the AG forums on and off for two years now and as far as I can tell, Natalia might very well be the first AG forum regular that the forum will be marrying off. We can't let such a grand occasion to take place without an Official AG Congrats Thread (TM pending) now, can we?

So here's my contribution. Let's be as creative and romantic as we can be as we send Natalia off on the most exciting journey of her life.

Congrats, Natalia, may your upcoming nuptial and married life be as sweet and beautiful as you are. Here are some good wishes, Korean Style.

Won Angs, mandarin ducks have been a symbol for conjugal affection and fidelity in Korea for a long time. Koreans regard Won Angs highly because they are known to mate with a single mate for their entire life.

Won Ang figures and the traditional wedding dolls are used to show the state of couple's relationship. When a husband and wife are happy the dolls will be facing each other. If they are mad at each other they turn the dolls away from each other. If one wants to make up he or she will turn their doll to face the other.

May your ducks be always facing each other...

I've been to the weddings of two of my friends who are Korean. They had a paebek (sp?) ceremony, which was just absolutely beautiful. I loved what they wore.

Keep the advice in the Stressed thread.

I can personally recommend marriage as (for the most part) destressing. Got married in January 1999 and haven't come round to regretting the decision yet.

Where in Belmont? My niece had hers at a place just off Alewife Brook Parkway - can't remember the name of it. Near where Bread & Circus is, off that rotary toward Belmont.

I'm getting married to my sweetie and soulmate, Mikey. (Although the AG guys are quite the handsome, witty, and interesting lot!)

Lynsie, we're getting married at St. Joseph's parish in Belmont and having the reception at the the Oakley Country Club on the Watertown/Belmont border (free food, yes, but it's your typical wedding chicken -- in this case fish -- and beef fare. I can't wait for the shrimp cocktails, my ownself

). The foliage is just starting to turn. It's looking like the rain is going to ease up next week -- I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
