Lucid dreaming, have you ever?
Lately i've been having more success in the mornings trying this out. I have recurring dreams where I'm in a hallway like a school or hospital where the flooring is laminated. I still love to 'shoosh' along on socks after building up speed on such floors. When I was little I used run as fast as I could and drop on my knees to skid on such floor types while wearing tracksuit pants. In my lucid dreaming state, the furthest control I seem to be able to exert is to self propel myself along the floor of this building like I'm in a bobsled. A cheap thrill yes and a long way from flying, but I've never flown outside of an airplane so its difficult, even in a lucid dream... Maybe I should go sky diving for a reference.
Have you ever had a lucid dream? |

Nope, and it's not for a lack of trying either. I don't think my mind is cut out for those things. Maybe I sleep too tightly, or not fast enough. When I'm awake, I'm usually _awake_. So that might be the cause.
Be glad, I envy you. But I'm not about to lose any sleep over it.

**Puts on Freud Hat**
Ah a very troubling dream. Sliding is a metaphor for "tossing the salad"/"Slapping the monkey". There is evidence of a variety of techniques used to satify this subconcious desire from the vanilla basic socks technique, to the more adventureous jogging pants and finally the concious attempt to make the experience last as long as possible before release. **Takes off Hat** Hee Hee

I did have a lucid dream many many years ago, and I'm ashamed to say I used it to take advantage of a girl I really fancied at the time. Oh the shame!

I had one, once.
The thing is I was dreaming and none of it made any sense, and then it struck me, I distinctly remember saying to myself "oh, i know this is a dream, this means it is now a lucid dream and I can do whatever I want" and thus I went to fly around the tree... guess lucid dreaming isn't all it's cranked up to be. |

There is a question that always puzzled me: how to recognize you're having a lucid dream? In a regular dream you are also convinced that what you experience is real - so why assume that you indeed realised a nature of a dream and became in charge of events rather than dreamt that you realised a nature of a dream and became in charge of events? Do you know what I mean? Since in the end of the

Er, well... I've not had a lucid dream before, but I've had many dreams in which, when I was dreaming them, I was fully aware they're only dreams. Which annoyed me a lot. And I didn't wake up because of it. But I've not ever been able to "take over" from there - though I must admit I haven't tried, either...

I once read a book on Lucid dreaming (I do tend to have really lucid dreams) and a few on Astral Projection, but could never get the Astrals Projected enough.
