Default Underground Scene of the Day - Monday 19 February 2007

Façade

Not all Underground adventures are LucasArts or Sierra fangames. Some are... err, AI research projects. With freeform conversations and a story that changes depending on how you interact with the two characters, Façade is a fascinating look at the kind of storytelling and interactivity that may become possible in the future. Judging from some of the playthrough transcripts floating around on the net, that's still a number of years into the future, though.

By the way, someone needs to play this game as Borat. The scary thing is that it probably would work better than just playing it straight.

The "HELP I'VE BEEN SHOT" transcript is quite a classic.

When trying to play the game for real, though, it always annoyed me how whenever I typed something in, by the time I pressed enter, I'd be interrupting something Trip and Grace already said.

I always wanted to try that game but could not get it to work in two seperate computers. Both had nvidia cards. Maybe the game doesn´t work with those.
