Monkey Island on TV ... sort of

Ok this is kind of strange.... but today while I was working I heard the Monkey Island theme start playing on tv and, of course, I jump out of my seat and run to see what it's all about. Much to my surprise, it's not Monkey Island at all... it's a stupid WHEAT THINS commercial.

Have any of you caught this commercial yet? It's the EXACT first notes of Monkey Island's famous theme on a damn cracker commercial. I was so disappointed! It reminded me of the silly Gynalotramin 'feminine care' ditty that sounded exactly like Sex and the City.

It sounded REALLY good on TV though! Maybe we will see some new LucasArts graphic adventure games in their own cinematic commercials soon! Curse of Monkey Island would have been a perfect "game commercial."

Anyways, I know this is a strange thread but it's adventure game related!!

UPDATE! : You can see and hear the commercial here. However, this is an edited version unfortunately. You only hear the few chords AFTER the beginning of the commercial but you can kind of get the idea. You have to see the real commercial to hear just how similar it is! It's crazy!

I see the similarities, but I don't see how it would make you jump out of the seat and seek the TV to find out about any notion of Monkey Island.

Its actually just Hall of the Mountain King played with steel drums.

But is also similar to the monkey island intro.

Yeah, the bit at the very beginning sounds like it, but the rest doesn't really.
