Discworld Noir for Sony PlayStation
I just bought myself a PlayStation version of Discworld Noir. It was cheap and I'm hoping of making it run on an emulator. Has anyone played this PS port? Is it any good?

Well there was (is) And it's not that strange since both Discworld 1 and 2 were also released on the PS1. In fact, Discworld 1 was my first game to the ps1 Although i probably should have bought it to the pc insted
But still, even though the controls were a bit more pc oriented - it remained a great and very funny experience. |

Hm, seems like they have quite a few interesting titles on sale at the moment. Panzer Dragoon Orta for just 49 kn! How in the world did I manage to overlook it? I hope there's still a copy left on Monday, gotta get me that one.
And I don't even have an Xbox

People seem to have forgotten/not known just how successful Discworld 1 and 2 were, even on the PS1. Broken Sword 1 and 2 were also available for the PS1 and were big successes too. Discworld also came out on the Sega Saturn. Even Discworld Noir came out on the Playstation.
Bizarre to think that it is now nearly 10 years since Discworld 1 and 9 years since Broken Sword 1 came out.

Hello people!
I'd like to play Discworld Noir... simply put: should I buy a PC or playstation version? I know that running it on PC requires a little tweaking, but that's not a problem... I'm more concerned about the quality of art/animation/etc. Thank you! |

I never played PS version, but based on previous experiences with other PS/PC adventures, I'm pretty sure the PC version looks better.

According to youtube, the Playstation version is fuzzy, and there's one short scene that is not animated.

The upside of PS (real console machine , not emulation) is big screen TV , downside of it is perhaps the resolution.

It's alright. The resolution is lower and Lewton's model isn't as detailed. Some stuff was scaled back to make it fit too, but it seemed pretty playable from the bit I mucked around with. It's a good alternative if you can't get the PC version working correctly.

I played the PS version having been told that, for legal reasons, the PC version couldn't be made. I thought the PS graphics weren't great, though the cut scenes were OK, but when I eventually played it on the PC I was stunned to realise how bad I'd had it until then.
I mean I know you don't need good graphics for a great AG but on the PS things were so fuzzy I couldn't really make out what a lot of things were supposed to be; I even realised that I'd been having to imagine what characters looked like when they were right in front of me. I'll be so glad if I can get it to work on my PC again...
