Do you like Myst?
Myst means any games in the Myst -series. EDIT: Except Uru.

I don't like the Myst games. I don't get them. Graphically wonderful, but ultimately a very hollow experience, IMO.

Let's put it this way: I want character interaction in my game. Story and characters are more important to me than solving an array of puzzles.
Which means I do like first person perspective games, like Titanic and The X-Files Game, but dislike games like Myst and The Crystal Key. --Erwin

I don't hate Myst type of games, I just don't like to play such games.

I'm not big on first-person (node based) adventure gamers, feels like there's something missing, so I never finished one Perhaps I should give that 3d Myst thing a try.

I actually have never played an entire Myst game. I tried playing one of the demos once, but after about five minutes I couldn't stand it any more. I really don't see what the attraction is.

Love them and can't live without them. But you all knew that anyway .

At the moment the poll is amazingly even.

My views on this subject mimic Erwins like a mime mimics umm... stuff.

I don't really have anything against Myst, it's just not my cuppa tea. So I'm not going to vote. |

Ahhh.... I thought you meant Myst-like games (clones included).
Well, my comment stands, unless you consider Uru a Myst game - which I don't. Uru was quite a departure, and while I liked the exploration, the keyboard controls and action puzzles soured it for me. I could live without Uru.

It definitely looks like the claim that Myst is hated here is untrue. Which is exactly what I wanted to show with this poll. Or maybe all the Myst lovers who are afraid of these forums have voted on this poll... and all the Myst haters are still fast asleep, and when they wake up and see this, the poll will turn upside down again.
I also realise that I should have set a time limit for this poll - a poll with a topic like this will live on forever, I'm afraid.

I've played Myst and Riven, and I liked them. I found the music and the graphics to be quite engaging, and I liked the settings.
