Default Sherlock Holmes "The silver earring"

Am I the only who nearly wet myself when I read about this game at the official website? Looks absolutely awesome.

Hopefully they have learnt from their previous miscreant of a Sherlock Holmes game. I am still wary of that company.

Yeah, Frogwares are a such mediocrity. They need some freshening up. And some handslapping.

Well, *if* they do, they are worthy of praise as to be able to learn from their mistakes, but that's not what I've seen so far.

I think they're being uptight and paying too much attention to the boring conventions of adventure games. They need to loosen up and be more visionary.

True sometimes things need to be visionary -

but I also find it pleasant to just experience an intricate story, have it well crafted and have credible game play.

It is Sherlock Holmes - not sure how visionary the subject is in the first place.

Let's put it this way: if Silver Earring is as much of an improvement over Journey to the Center, as JTTC was over Mystery of the Mummy (which I think Frogwares knows was ill-conceived), it's going to be very, very good.

But Sherlock is all about the story. You all know how much I love the first Lost Files game. That game was technically behind the times, but it was just SO well-written and SO interesting. I want to see some dialogue samples before I pass a judgment.

I think the fact that they got a "mainstream" publisher with a good track record to publish the game (in the UK, Benelux & Scandinavia) is a good sign.

Yeaaah, Sherlock Holmes is the greatest! It's just that all the SH games kinda sucked (Lost files not included). Well, you can never be too optimistic, can you? It's just like if you were a Star Wars fan, they were always like: Maybe this one will be a good one. DOUGH! And they got their KOTOR! So maybe it's time for us die-hard Holmes fans at last...

Although I'm a big Sherlock Holmes fan I have never played any of the previous games. I can't play "first person/click on stillimages-games". But this one isn't one of those so now I'm really looking forward to this game.

What's weird is that there were no news about this game from E3 show. Stinger's 3-part report mentioned many AGs, but not this one, or even Moment of Silence(well this was mentioned in last part, but no news, whether it looks promising or not, same goes for Legacy-Dark Shadows), makes me think, they weren't present at show at all.

Stinger?

Sherlock Holmes was at E3 this year on the UK: State of Play stand right next door to the very loud Tecmo stand. Though aren't any game trailers for it at the moment.

Sherlock Holmes should be released in September time in the UK. A demo will arrive before the games release, however the date for the demo hasn't been decided yet.

Hope that answers your questions. One quick thing though, I'm trying to get the word out on this new Sherlock Holmes game. I've logged Adventure Gamers on the top of my list, but does anyone know any other good UK adventure game sites? I've tried following the path of Broken Sword but come up empty handed.

I don't hold my breath when it comes to this new Sherlock game. I mean, you can still replay the two ass kicking Sherlock games EA brought us decades ago.
