Default Your favorite developers?

Like the title says: What's your favorite developer company? I've been thinking of this a long time, but it's quite a difficult question!

I really like Tale of Tales. I'm really hyped to see what their future will bring! Same with Crimson Cow.
If Jane Jensen was a part of a company (maybe she is?), I'd say something about that too.

You mean the currently active developers?

Wadjet Eye is my favorite developer right now. Indie games at their best.

I'm all pumped up for playing Senscape's first - Asylum - because the author of Scratches is behind it and because of the Asylum's teasers.

Telltale is very cool and creative, and releases games regularly (though they often feel rushed somewhat).

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot KHEOPS - large numbers of good-to-excellent 1st person adventures, I hope they still will do more of them

I'll second Telltale.

also, even though i'e never played any of their work, i would like to nominate Daedalic Entertainment.

they have made some of the most gorgeous looking games i have ever laid eyes on. a veritable "eye-gasm" from start to finish, those games look like.

I like some developers even without having played their games But I guess if we're talking real favourites, Revolution would be up there for me. The Shadow of the Templars and Beneath a Steel Sky are brilliant adventure games; and I consider George Stobbart to be one of the greatest video game protagonists of all time. Revolution employ fantastic writing in their games and Charles Cecil just seems like such an upstanding dude.

I appreciate Ragnar Tornquist and his team for creating both games in The Longest Journey series as it's some of the most thought-provoking and imaginative fiction I've experienced, though I've played nothing of Funcom's other works.

I tip my hat to Hideo Kojima for thinking up Snatcher (via 80s sci-fi movies) but again, it's more about the individual creator rather than Konami.

Hmm...difficult question...for companies active now I really like Wadjet Eye, but if I can also include companies that are long gone now, I'd say Sierra, with their great game designers, a variety of genres within the adventure game scene, and of course the possibility to die in a game.

I'm always completely oblivious about developer companies, pretty much the only one I know is Telltale Games. I'm much more familiar with individual developers, and there without a doubt my favorite is Jane Jensen. Her games are just on such a different level than most.

But as his name is hardly ever mentioned on here , I just wanna say once more - HIDEO KOJIMA!!

Apart from the obvious old-school ones like LucasArts, Revolution and Access, Amanita Design is probably my favourite current developer. Partly because they don't release very often so their games become a rare treat, but also because of their unique feel (or at least they used to be unique, before poor to mediocre Samorost clones started to get common) that really makes me look forward to what they'll come up with next.

I would mention Telltale but I feel the quality of their output has taken a turn for the worse lately.

Nobody mentions Double Fine? Good thing I popped in.

I must also add Hothead games. I've only played the Deathspank games (which are absolutely great) but since they also will be doing a game based on The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy they are now officially on my list of favourite developers.
