Amazing magazine ads, thanks for sharing! I especially love the Toonstruck pages. I actually still have a lot of these games stashed in a drawer under my bed somewhere, including Titanic: Adventure Out Of Time, The Neverhood, Ripper and Down In The Dumps (one of the worst adventure games I've ever played).

looks great! I happen to own all pc gamers (US) from the first issue (94) to today. Those also have a lot of ads, too bad I don't have time to scan these in.
Maybe someday, when I'm retired in 35 years...

ok I can identify most of the characters in this imagine but there's a few puzzling me
the kid in 3D glasses for one and the girl with a heart cap next to him. the angel and devil, the big eyed green thing in front of Purple Tentacle and the guy with a gun next to Guybrush odd there's no Loom as well, unless those robed guys are supposed to be weavers, but they look more Star Warsy

The angel and devil are from Afterlife. The guy with the gun looks like either Han Solo or one of his clones: Kyle Katarn and Dash Rendar. The big eyed green thing I have no idea

A third part of that article series about adventure games advertisments has showed up:
http://www.przygodoskop.pl/rzutokiem/11-08-08.htm What I found particularly interesting is that The Last Express which is famously said to not have had any marketing at all (Broderbound was going bankrupt) had 2 pages ads in popular computer magazines for a few months before the release. There are also big ads for the cancelled Star Trek: The Secret of Vulcan Fury and Warcraft Adventures. And check out the very unconventional Riven ads.

Note that the ads for Callahan's completely depict it as a Western, thanks to the Take Two marketing geniuses who wrote the ads without ever booting up the program or even once reading a synopsis.
