Default Sierra Online video catalogue (VERY cheesy!)

Posted this thread on the Telltale forums but figured people here might find it amusing as well... though even more so here than on the Telltale forums, I expect a lot of you to have seen these already.

Also, I did a search and found a thread about this from many years ago, but that one only had one of these video catalogues... I've posted two here.
And seeing how that thread is so very old, there might be many new people here by now that never had a chance to see that thread in the first place.

Watched all of these years and years ago but had forgotten all about them... was reminded of them today when looking at random Sierra related videos on Youtube.

Basically, they're videos Sierra sent out containing ads for their various games... but the interesting (and horribly cheesy) thing is they include many small real full motion video clips, clips with real 'actors' and all, based on scenes from the various games shown.

There are clips like that of games such as Kings Quest 4, Police Quest 2, and more.

No idea if there are more, but if you find any, please post links

Amusing. You should post this on SHP, too.

Just posted the thread there now, but wasn't sure in which section to put it... you'll have to check and see and move it if necessary

Nice to see this is something not everyone has already seen, they're very much worth watching if one is a fan of Sierra games, in my opinion... both interesting, cheesy and hilarious stuff

"... advanced high-resolution graphics, unparalleled 3D animation and a lavish musical soundtrack..."

It's nice to see that, almost 15 years later, marketing people are still recycling the exact same phrases...

Well, in Sierra games, they weren't that far from the truth... they were one of the companies pushing the boundaries when it came to PC gaming back then... just look at the Kings Quest series, many of those games had impressive features not seen in many other PC games before them.

Also, they had some of the best game soundtracks out there, in my opinion anyway

Of course when looking at other systems, such as the Amiga, their graphics weren't all that impressive... not until they started making 256 color VGA games, anyway.

Just chanced upon another old Sierra ad, this one a specific ad for the VGA remake of Space Quest 1.

And this is just... really bad -
