"I can't even remember the last time I used 1024X768, maybe with my PII setup? "

I'm too old fashion type! I'm using 1024 X 768 .

Sorry, but I hate wide screen monitors! I can't stand them!

I still prefer my 22" CRT for my gaming, so much so that I have bought a spare in case anything happens to it. I use 1024 X 768. Anything higher is way to small to see easily.

No, that wasn't the intention. My previous monitor came with my old computer, which I had aaaages ago. Because a new monitor would've cost me extra at the time of buying my current PC, I decided to stick to my old monitor. I decided it was time for a change... and I went from a 15" to a 19". It might not be a huge leap, but I don't care. My current resolution looks a lot better than before, it's widescreen and I think the monitor itself looks great. If money and space weren't an issue I would've gone for something bigger.

Yes, it was only 15", and no, it was LCD.

Voted for 1280x800. But I'm at my mother's laptop atm (and for at least another week....). Normally use 1680x1050.

There are plenty of 4:3 monitors out there.... As a matter of fact I just bought 20 HP 21" 4:3 monitors for one of my clients...

@colpet

1024x768 on a 22" 4:3 monitor is huge!! Can yo usee the anti-alaising on the fonts/icons?

Just joshing you man... Whatever rocks your boat

Hmm first I thought this too, but then more and more movies came out in 16 : 9 and I had to opportunity to get a bigger widescreen monitor with a higher resolution than my previous 4:3 monitor so I took that opportunity. And I don't regret it! It's a more natural approach of vison anyway since you don't see 4:3 but rather widescreen lol. ^^

@marvio
Woow, could you please cut down your empty space in your post a bit XD, it's taking nearly the whole second page :O.

Um, maybe? I don't know what anti-alaising is.

Might be your answer

Basically it makes 3D objects look smoother, but with a low resolution on a big screen you also see that it smears.
Now you can decide whether you like your picture edgy or smeary.

I don't usually look at movies in full screen. Maybe that's just me!

Not only 3D, any computer graphics... Remember computers can only display square pixels No matter how tiny they are, they're still square, but anti-alaising is more then smoothing of the pixels themselves, it's also the blending of foreground>background colors, at a per pixel level.

Remember the old windows 95 splash screen? You know how you could see the edges kinda fade away into the background around the W and the 95? That's anti-alaising, of course you're not supposed to see that, you could only see it because they used a super timy image and blew it up on the screen. That "effect" by the way is called rolling edges.

At any rate...
@Serious.Ray

Sorry dude, I was just rtrying to be funny Because I was teasing him at the top, but didn't want him to think I was actually being mean...
