Do you know an old text based graphic adventure from the mid 80s?

The graphics were very basic, with pictures only and no animations. The only thing I remember of substance was that in the opening, there are two guards standing in front of a cave, into which you are thrown because of some crime (possibly treason).

That reminds me more of an opening to a dungeoncrawler, like Ultima Underworld. Since you say "no animations" I guess it's not it. I've no idea then.
You sure it's an adventure game?
