Default 'Limbus' (from Marco Hullen of 'The Whispered World')

Didn't think anyone had picked up on this yet, so thought I'd put it out there for everyone's attention (sorry if people have mentioned it elsewhere).

Limbus is the next project by Marco Hullen - lead designer and illustrator of Whispered World, though he talks of it as a 'hobby project' (which means we may not see any more details for some time ). Here's what I pulled up from a blog site:
Quote:
Limbus is set in a fictional future in which the world has been in chaos for many years, as people have suddenly begun to remember their past lives. As people are no longer afraid of death, they go about living their lives light-heartedly. Crimes are abound, wars raging and nothing can prevent the madness of mankind.

But then the Triplets are born. They alone can not remember their past lives, and their task will be to end the madness of the world.

The player assumes the role of the triplets Aurora, Nicodemus and Orlando, who must return to the villa of their childhood, to uncover the mystery of their lives and the entire mankind. The three are pursued by a secret sect, who eventually will have something to do with their secret.

During the story the three will have to visit crazy places like the city of the children and the city of the elderly, and meet many crazy characters, like the child Linus, who has opened a museum of his past lives, as well as creatures such as Nox, who lives in their villa.
For the full blog, go here. I've attached the images just to tantilise (and because they look so amazing!). The character's are Nicodemus and Aurora respectively (two of the three leads), and the third is one of the Nox creatures (check out the blog for full res versions).

Well, I know I can't wait for it. But, alas, waiting it seems is what we shall do.

The picture is gorgeous and the story sounds very good, too.
Is it a daedalic published adventure?

I'm not so sure it's under any publisher or any realm of development beyond what Hullen described it himself as a 'hobby project'. Anything that has been done so far is probably in his own time and efforts, but it's only a guess. Who knows though, they could possibly pick him up again?

Well, I get the impression he never worked for Daedalic per se, only with. This is pulled up from an interview with him [EDIT: on Whispered World], after which he has mentioned working on the game as uni thesis then partially completing it while working for a different development company:
Quote:
"I came in contact with Daedalic Entertainment by chance, who then inquired if I would continue to work on the game at the studio. Thus my work at Daedalic began in September 2007, where I worked on the game, together with the rest of my colleagues, for almost 2 years as lead artist and game designer, up until its release in Germany in August 2009."
So yeah, I think Daedalic was there to not only financially support him and his "colleagues" but also provide them a space to do it in. The blog that covered Limbus goes on to say that
Quote:
'At the moment, while the author admits to currently working on a demo, he is not yet very far in development, and as such not actively looking for publishers yet'
So, I suppose that is how it is for now... sorry for all the supposition, but I think all of it seems about right.

Like I said - realise it was news that had been around for a while but noone had started discussing it yet. Some people in here at least have now learnt about it now. And besides, what I was answering was based on my supposition and is not necessarily clear in the interview. I'm interested in hearing people's opinions and creating further discussion on it though, if that's alright by you.

It wasn't old news to me so thanks for the heads up Sughly

The game sounds promising already to me but I doubt we'll see much from it for a while.

My pleasure!

Sorry for the double post.

I really like these graphics. But I think the graphics are only concepts. I can`t wait to see the final images.
