Default Tales of Monkey Island - Episode 1 - FREE tonight!

As Dale Baldwin and MrMike announced in other threads already:

If you register at TellTale Games now you will get the first episode of Tales of Monkey Island...

Launch of the Screaming Narwahl ...for FREE.

I just got my copy.

The offer expires roughly in about 16 hours at 11:59pm PST on Saturday.

Getting and Gotten. SWEET! After the day is over, can we still play the game?

I already bought and played it but I re-downloaded it to show support.

yeah, I was wondering about that...

I assume you can - it's probably a 'you got the first part - you wan'em all'-kind of promotion

I got it as well, but I guess I do need to do some tweaking with my videocard and driver, because well...the characters look like crap. Half of the triangles I see, half I don't, and which part I see differs. The triangles that stay are the ones that are not moving for a while, so at least I have a lead.
Let's hope it can be used for more than a day so I can get it working properly

Yeah it can be redownloaded and played forever. It's just the getting-it-free part that was limited to yesterday.

Luna, it sounds like your video card might not be supported - do you meet the minimum specs?

You're right Fov, it is my videocard that is the culprit. I do meet the minimum specs of videomemory and the like, but indeed, my card is not supported.

As is also discussed in this thread of the telltale forums, ToMI gves messy graphics Radeon 9200 series. (Didn't think my card would be too old to play a relatively simple game like ToMI. How naive I am )

Time to look out for a new videocard before I start playing all episodes.

Might I suggest shopping for nVidia GeForce cards instead of ATI Radeons? ATI may currently have the most powerful card out there, but the GeForce series is more fully-featured (including proper 4:3 scaling for widescreen monitors, which is a MUST for people who like to play older games and not have them stretch!), and tends to have a lot less incompatibility issues across the board. I personally will never use another ATI card.
