Bugger, somehow I managed to reply to the wrong thread....
[EDIT] Yeah that's really cool but I don’t exactly have a problem with the way the 2D version was done, either. I liked the way the animations of the painted version were done in time (I doubt they actually did all the animations in time, there's probably some nice little trick they used) so everything was in exactly the same place when you switched from the painted to the pixelated (is that a real word?) versions. (Particularly things like Otis, in the jail cell or Stan's.... erratic movements). Last edited by Marduk; 07-29-2009 at 12:46 PM. |

That sure was awesome.
Although as much as I like The MI:SE (playing it right now) I really would like to see a new adventure game instead.

Those guys are serious, not to mention modest. In the video, they make it sound like it's all easy "voodoo" magic, like you push a few buttons in a 3D software program and you're done. But really, a lot of work went into that thing.

And good Lord, doesn't it look gorgeous? Certainly better than the job LucasArts did with their own special edition...

Yes, it looks good, and it's an interesting approach they took with it.

It seems interesting but I won't be convinced by a youtube video.

Its very nice but much ado about nothing. Monkey Island 2 was special because its a follow up to Monkey Island, it has awesome puzzles and the writing was top notch. The soundtrack was the best ever for an adventure game and the ending polarized the fanbase. 3D voodoo cannot improve on that but should be a great platform for a fan based followup to MI2.
