KOTR is in the fight because of extra life and it is very strong, although it lost the inital fight, it got more votes then GF, which actually won the initial, so only massive votes by adventure gamers can win it for Grim Fandango.

It's classic Lucasarts Vs evil corrupted present day Lucasarts. Actually it's classic Lucasarts Vs Bioware, but that's not the point.

Not that I have any thing against KOTOR, I'm sure it's a very nice game, I just really really want Grim Fandango to win.

Oh, and there's that other dude as well.

Right. KotOR may be a good game, but it's StarWars nonetheless. Grim, on the other hand, is LEC's last (Till now? Or last period?) big adventure game. You choose.

Which kind of turns this next bracket into the video game ranking version of the Scopes Monkey Trial. This time there’s no actual monkey wearing his best teeny suit on trial for his little life, but the principle remains the same. A vote for Chrono Trigger is metaphorically a vote against the rational basis of all modern thought. And literally a vote against monkeys. You can’t actually vote yet, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying.
After that I don't know how anyone could vote for Chrono Trigger...

Well, i can't vote. The match date says 15th march alright, but the link is not enabled. Must be time zone thingy. Does the match start at some fixed hour? If yes, when?

It should start "Monday at noon". Not very helpful. But I guess it should be soon.

Ok, it's time zone related then, since it's already 4.30 pm here

So KOTOR lost but sneaked through on an "Extra life"? Pfft. This is all a fix, isn't it? A big conspiracy to get Star Wars games to win and justify LucasArts' recent actions?!

Paranoia paranoia! (And I'm only partially kidding )

Also...

Hyrule is from the Zelda series of games. Each category is supposed to be a loose collection of games in the same genre - the adventure section is actually 'Action/Adventure' as well as plain 'Adventure', though, which is a bit unfair. Each category seems to be named after a 'place' found in a game within that category - hence 'Hyrule' and, for instance, 'The Abandoned Base' (from Quake) for the FPS section.

The "extra life" is not only a little unfair (some games get an extra opponent and others don't), but it could also have some strange effects. Like, KotOR could win the Hyrule section, although it doesn't belong there.

But it won't, right?

Give it another 3 hours or so. It starts at noon Pacific Time, 2100 GMT, etc. When it's time, you'll be able to vote here.

Oh, and Moos, that quote you attributed to Tim was actually part of a rant by Erik, formerly of Old Man Murray and a current Double Fine employee.

Yeah... I wasn't sure about that. I couldn't tell what was up with Tim going on about lying and the what not.

Well then, there's this great newish site you should check out. It's called Tim Fandango and it's got the scoop on all things Tim Schafer and Double Fine, including their new hires.
