Default Grim Fandango Awesomeness!

In what is probably the most awesome news ever, Tim Shaefer has, to celebrate a certain 10 year Anniversary, put up a .pdf of a certain game's Design-document for you to grab. It contains all the games puzzles (exept the last one) and even a few that didn't make the cut.

I'm sad to say that I have yet to play Grim Fadango, but when I do (and I will do it, belive you me!) I will certainly give this document a couple or more good reads.

How perfectly awesome! I'll read that for sure.

And wow, it's been ten years already? I remember this game so clearly in my head. Ah, the glorious souvenirs of slowly and lovingly peeling the shrink wrap off the box and feeling insanely thrilled. It almost feels like it was yesterday.

Happy tenth anniversary to Grim Fandango, Manuel Calavera, and the whole design team! May you all forever shine in our memories.

One of the greatest games of all time. Right now, I'd probably say the best voice-work of any game ever. And I went and gave it to a friend because I'd already played through it twice and now it's gone forever gone gone gone. And I can't find it for 10 bucks so I won't buy it again.

If not, i will happily continue sharing it. I really wish this game would get a sequel, the characters and world are second to non, even 10 years later.

The metal gear solid series also always had good voicework and uncharted: drakes fortune was also very impressive with it's use of the virtual actors. The longest journey had a great cast though as well in this specific adventure genre. (Manny and Glottis are hard to top though for chemistry really)

I would maybe also add Monkey Island 3.

I would maybe also add Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars (or Circle of Blood for our American friends.) Gotta love Rolf Saxon

Great find! No wonder the game was so good, it was built on an amazing foundation.

I was really impressed with all the detail that was put into the document. The diagrams showing the flow of the puzzles, the maps showing how each area is connected and which areas are possible to travel to. I have been trying to make an adventure game myself, but after reading this I think I will start from scratch and try to follow this design document so that its made properly.

Its too bad some of the puzzles were cut. I really liked the sound of that giraffe woman and the Bonewagon as a pizza delivery car

I saved this bad boy on my hard drive. Since this got taken down I wonder if this could be used as leverage against Lucas Arts.
